Annual Shell Show
Every February the Sarasota Shell Club hosts a shell show to highlight our love of shells. This is a three-day judged event with two main classifications of exhibits: scientific and artistic. The exhibits are designed to educate, amuse, and stimulate an interest in shells and shelling. Anyone interested can enter an exhibit for judging. You do not have to be a club member. Entry forms can be downloaded from our website under this topic heading. Other shell show highlights include:
*Dealers selling exotic and rate shells from all over the world.
*Shell crafting demonstrations.
*Activities for children.
*Fabulous raffle and door prizes.
Now offered for the second year is the Student Division in which high school Marine Science classes is Sarasota County and Manatee County can compete for classroom grants. Teachers--see information under Teacher/Classroom Entry Form.
The 2017 shell show will be Friday, Feb. 3, 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 4: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 5: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Dr, Palmetto, FL. See map below.
